Field experiences are an integral part of the teacher preparation program. Many field experiences occur in partnership schools that form the Central Connecticut [Professional Development School Network]. In most programs, there are four field experiences, one each semester of the program and each taken in conjunction with one or more courses during the same semester. All field experiences are planned and sequenced to extend the principles and practices of the program's theme and knowledge base. In addition, all of the field experience and course work sequences work together to contribute to a teacher candidate's portfolio which is developed over the course of the professional program.
